Mary Kate Boone Mincey Thompkins: Tabor City
1923 – 2020
Mary Kate Boone Mincey Register Thompkins of Tabor City passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Brunswick Health & Rehab in Ash. She was 97.
Born June 27, 1923 in Dillon, she was the daughter of the late Fred Leon Boone and the late Mary Christian Bailey Boone. Mrs. Thompkins was a retired seamstress and loving homemaker.
A devout Christian she had been a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church, Springfield Baptist Church and current active member of Dulah Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Cecil Mincey and wife Terry; daughter Brenda Buck; step-daughters Brenda Stalvey and husband Ronald, and Monica Thompkins and fiancé John; step-son-in-law Tommy Thorpe; grandchildren Wayne Buck, Steve Buck, Danny Buck, Terrill Mincey and Curtis Kennedy; brother Less Boone; sister Betty Holmes; and many grand and step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thompkins was predeceased by her first husband, Roland Mincey; her second husband, Craven Danford Register; her third husband, J. D. Thompkins; son-in-law Harvey Elbert Buck; step-daughter Shirley Thorpe; four brothers, Leon Boone, Jack Boone, Roy Boone and Nevel Boone; and two sisters, Kathleen Mincey and Mildred Elliott.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Buck Creek Cemetery with Rev. Ken Smith and Rev. Ragsdale Allsbrook officiating.
