Frances Mincey McInnis: Sumter
1941 – 2020
Frances Mincey McInnis of Sumter, beloved wife of 60 years to Walter M. McInnis, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Prisma Health Richland. She was 79.
Born in Loris on Aug. 19, 1941, she was the daughter of the late James Preston Mincey and Anniebell Grainger Mincey.
Mrs. McInnis had worked at Campbell’s Soup and Wal-Mart for many years. In addition, she had also worked as a surgical tech at both Tuomey and Clarendon Memorial Hospitals and with the Red Cross. She enjoyed reading cookbooks and loved to bake. She was best known for making some good cakes.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Mrs. McInnis attended Bethesda Church of God.
In addition to her husband Walter of Sumter, she is survived by three daughters, Anita Neville (Mike Craft), Vanessa McInnis (Tom) all of Sumter and Linda Squires of Pinewood; three very special daughter, Shiny Chan of Malaysia, Julie Hair of Sumter, and Stephanie Mitchum of Sumter; three special sons-in-law, Dan Neville, Butch Caines, and Larry Squires of Sumter; two brothers, Carlton Grainger (Betty) of Rock Hill and Wallace Mincey (Jean) of Gaston; ten grandchildren, Jonathan Neville, Jason Neville, Matthew Neville, Katie Neville, Doc Caines, Eric Caines, Nathan Caines, Amanda McInnis, Emily Broach, and Lee Squires and 21 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Walter Shannon; a sister, Linny Hyatt; a brother, Kenny Mincey; and one grandson, Josh Neville.
Family planned to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Bullock Funeral Home in Sumter.
A funeral service was planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Bethesda Church of God with the Revs. Al Sims and Neil DuBose officiating, interment following in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
