Charlotte Kay Bennett: Greenville, NC

1957 – 2020

     Charlotte Kay Bennett of Greenville, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 10. She was 63.

     Ms. Bennett was born July 25, 1957 in Southport to the Mr. Jonathan Bennett and the late Charlotte Jane Milliken Brown. Ms. Bennett was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.

     Survivors include her son, Lonnie Ray Hewett of North Myrtle Beach; two daughters, Crystal Dawn Hewett Perkins and husband, Julian of Greenville, North Carolina and Kelly Suzanne Hewett of North Myrtle Beach; and their father, Wayne Hewett of North Myrtle Beach; step-father Willie Brown, Sr. of Bolivia; eight grandchildren, Carleigh, Zoe, Landon, Marlie, Grayson, Trey, Renee, and Natalie; great-grandchild, Timber; and five sisters, Regina Simmons and husband, Dean, Charlene Hill and husband, Jonathan all of Bolivia, NC, Dottie Godwin and husband, Terry, Paula Bennett, and Levone “Dooley” Ward all of Crusoe Island.

     In addition to her mother, Ms. Bennett was predeceased by her son, Benny Eugene Smith, Jr.; a brother, Willie Brown, Jr.; and a sister, Paulette B. Watts.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Dulah Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Kenny Smith and Rev. Mack Hutson officiating, committal services following at the Hewett Family Cemetery.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding the funeral service at the church.
