Clara Lidy Norris Cartrette: Chadbourn

1935 – 2020

     Clara Lidy Norris Cartrette of Chadbourn died Sunday, Nov. 29, in Shoreland Health, Whiteville. She was 85.

     Born Sept. 13, 1935 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Martin Vester Norris and Mary Elizabeth Nobles Norris and the widow of Rayford Cartrette.

     She is survived by one son, Danny Ray Cartrette of Clarendon; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Hernandez; a son, Ricky Dell Cartrette; two brothers, Shelton Norris and Herman Norris; three sisters, Myrtle Godwin, Loublond Hardison and Al Spivey; and one grandson.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in McPherson Cemetery, Chadbourn.
