Harry Lee Soles: Tabor City

1934 – 2020

     Harry Lee Soles died on Wednesday, Nov. 25, at his home in Tabor City. He was 86.

     Born Sept. 1, 1934 in Tabor City, he was the son of the late Wade H. Soles, and the late Bessie Boswell Soles.

     Mr. Soles served his country with courage and honor in the US Army during the Korean conflict. After the Army, Mr. Soles worked with International Harvester until his retirement and was a longtime member of Oak Dale Baptist Church.

     Survivors include his son, Wade Soles of Tabor City; daughter Debra Mitchell and husband, Billy, of Tabor City; sister Verna Ree Hudson of Tabor City; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Soles was predeceased by his wife, Janet Lois Ruhland Soles; and two brothers, Wade Soles, Jr. and Cecil Oree Soles.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at Oak Dale Baptist Church with Pastor Haywood Fowler and Reverend Larry Soles officiating, committal services following at Oak Dale Cemetery.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding the service at the church.
