Elwanda Blanton Hodge: Loris

1948 – 2020

     Elwanda “Wanda” Blanton Hodge of Loris passed away on Monday, Nov. 30. She was 72.

     Mrs. Hodge was born on Nov. 21, 1948 in Loris to the late Joseph Blanton and the late Myrtie Mae Watts Blanton. Mrs. Hodge worked for Horry County Schools until her retirement and was a life time member of Live Oak Baptist Church.

     Survivors include her son, Michael Hodge of Loris; a brother, Stuart Blanton and wife Donna of Loris; a sister, Beverly Blanton Ray and husband Edward of Galivants Ferry; and loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

     Mrs. Hodge was predeceased by her husband, Return Hodge; and brother, Jimmy Wayne Blanton.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at Live Oak Baptist Church with Pastor Alvin Jackson and Reverend Mark Hughes officiating.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding the service at the church.
