Sarah Lee Currie: Whiteville

1932 – 2020

     Sarah Lee Currie Whiteville died Tuesday, Dec. 8, in her home. She was 88.

     Born Oct. 25, 1932 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Fred C and Madie Cribb Watts.

     She is survived by her husband, Donald P. Currie, Sr. of the home; two sons, Darren L. Currie and wife Shelly and Phillip “Phil” Currie, all of Whiteville; two sisters, Sue W. Fipps and her husband Lowery and Barbara Miranda and her husband Raymond, all of Eastover; two grandchildren, Mackenzie and Drake; and several nieces and nephews.

     A graveside service was planned for 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11 in the Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery.

     Family planned to receive friends following the service in the cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lebanon United Methodist Church, 9237 James B. White Hwy S., Clarendon, NC 28432
