Donald W. Bellamy: Longs

1935 – 2020

     Donald W. Bellamy, Sergeant of the SCDNR (Ret.) passed away peacefully at his home in Longs on Monday, Dec. 21. He was 85.

     Mr. Bellamy was born June 4, 1935 in Longs to the late I.T. Bellamy and the late Olive Vaught Bellamy. He was a devoted Christian and member of Mt. Leon Baptist Church for many years while serving on the board of deacons. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

     He leaves behind a loving wife of 63 years, Lois Bellamy; a son, Ricky Bellamy (Karen Bellamy); a daughter, Suzette Gore (Reggie Gore); four grandsons, Kyle Gore (Jenny Gore), Trevor Gore (Danielle Gore), Chad Bellamy (Courtney Bellamy), and Jonah Easter; granddaughter Jordan Easter (fiancé, Jordan Phillips); six great-grandchildren, Maddie Gore, Emma Gore, Bellamie Gore, Palin Gore, Gray Gore, and Easton Bellamy.

     He was also pre-deceased by a daughter-in-law, Sandra Bellamy.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, at Mt. Leon Baptist Church with Pastor Andy Bell and Rev. Billy Long officiating, committal services following at Buck Creek Cemetery.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services at the Mt. Leon Fellowship Hall.

     Mask wearing and adhering to social distancing guidelines is mandatory for the service and visitation.
