Edward Hamer, Sr.: Chadbourn

1935 – 2021

     Edward Hamer, Sr. of Chadbourn went to be with his Lord on Friday, Jan. 1, at his home. He was 85.

     He was born March 6, 1935, in Columbus County to the late Dolroe and Lillian Lewis Hamer.

     Survivors include three daughters, Thay Lee Smith and Bonita J. Hamer both of Chadbourn and Greta D. Hamer of Stalbans, New York; a sister, Audrey Hamer of Woodlawn, Maryland; two brothers, Johnny W. Hamer of New Waverly, Texas and Dolroe Hamer, Jr. of Chadbourn; and a sister-in-law.

     A walk-through viewing was planned from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at D&A Funeral Services Chapel, Chadbourn.

     A graveside service is planned for noon Saturday, Jan. 9, at Evergreen Community Cemetery, 1574 Old Hwy 74 Evergreen, with Rev. Virgil H. Reaves officiating.
