Hobie Don Wood: Tabor City
1937 – 2021
Hobie Don Wood of Tabor City died Sunday, Jan. 3, in Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach. He was 83.
Born Oct. 2, 1937 in Senath, Missouri, he was the son of the late Hobie J. Wood and Wilma Rich Wood.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Faye Nealey Wood of the home; four daughters, Donna Sue Segars and husband Glenn of Hartwell, Georgia, Tamela Crane and husband Glen of Thomasville, Darlene Redding and husband Reggie of Denton, and Melinda Chambers and husband Scott of North Charleston; a son, Kevin Wood of Cardwell, Missouri; a brother, Charles Wood and wife Charlotte of Memphis, Tennessee; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Hobie Don Wood, Jr.
A private graveside service was planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, in Forest Lawn Cemetery. CDC guidelines will be followed for the protection of the family and others, with all who attend required to wear a mask.
