Russell McAlister: Chadbourn

1936 – 2021

     Russell McAlister of Chadbourn entered into the presence of his Lord on Saturday, Jan. 9, at his home. He was 84.

     Born Oct. 28, 1936, he was the son of the late Alonza and Aretha Frink McAllister.

     He was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Johnson; and three brothers, Alonza Edward and Aurhur McAlister.

     Survivors include his beloved children, Dallas McAlister of Bronx, New York, Inell Richardson of Swansea, Richard Powell and Sheena Lewis of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Cyrus McAlister of Chadbourn, Bryant McAlister of Barnwell, and April McAlister of Jonesboro, Georgia.

     Mr. McAlister was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

     A memorial service with military honors was planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Belvue Cemetery, 1055 Clarendon-Chadbourn Road, Chadbourn, with Pastor Darryl Hardy Sr. officiating.
