Wayland Devon Nobles: Chadbourn
1964 – 2021
Wayland Devon Nobles of Chadbourn gained his heavenly wings on Sunday, Jan. 10. He was 56.
He was a very simple man who worked hard, loved his family, enjoyed working on his tractors and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and worked at Southern Industrial.
He was the son Cora Jane Nobles and the late Clyde Nobles.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 34 years, Renee Nobles. Together they have three children, David Nobles (Kayla) of Whiteville, LeAne Ivey (Jeremy) Cerro Gordo, Amanda Williams (Bradley) of High Point. He was a grandpa to nine beautiful children, Bella, Makinlee, Grayson, Dawson, Johnnie Levi, Ryan, Skylar, Ruby and Laney.
He is also survived by three sisters, Jeanine Manning (Jimmy), Wendy Ward and Angela Feehily (Andrew); and two special friends who were more like sons to him, Timmy Powell and Chase Clifton.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his best friend, Darryl Dudley.
In lieu of flowers, Wayland requested donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Gideons and/or the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in the Nobles Family Cemetery.
Immediate family planned to receive other family and friends during the hour preceding the service in the funeral home.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, CDC guidelines will be followed for social distancing and all attendees will be required to wear a mask.
