Virginia Blanton Netzband: West Columbia

1950 – 2021

     Virginia Blanton Netzband of West Columbia died Tuesday, Jan. 5, in the Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia. He was 70.

     Born Feb. 25, 1950 in Mullins, she was the daughter of the late Waddell Blanton and Elma Shelley Blanton.

     She is preceded in death by brothers Paul Blanton and Walter Blanton; and a sister, Elizabeth Blanton.

     Virginia grew up in the Duford Community of Horry County and graduated from Floyds High School in 1968. After living 20 years in Nichols she moved to West Columbia in the mid-1990’s where she lived until her death.

     She is survived by one son, Jim Netzband of Hallowell, Maine; a brother, Clifford W. Blanton of Lexington; a sister, Alice Blanton of West Columbia; and one grandson, Jim Netzband III of Tacoma, Washington.

     A memorial graveside service was planned for 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at in Blanton Cemetery.
