Brooks Burdon Ward: Whiteville

1932 – 2021

     Brooks Burdon Ward of Whiteville died Wednesday, Jan. 27, in Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, Whiteville. He was 88.

     Born Oct. 10, 1932 in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Zeddie Lee Ward and Rosa Burroughs Ward.

     He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jacobs Ward of the home; a son, Gary Ward of Whiteville; three sisters, Dr. Muriel O’Tuel and Ann Hughes of North Myrtle Beach and Wanda Wagner of Whiteville.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Ward and Wayland Ward; and a sister, Catherine Spivey.

     A graveside service was planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, in Myrtle Green Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472.
