Wilton Edgar Huggins: Chadbourn

1937 – 2021

     Wilton Edgar Huggins of the Beaverdam Community, Chadbourn, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, in Columbus Regional Healthcare, Whiteville. He was 83.

     Born Sept. 5, 1937 in Loris, he was the son of the late Howard Huggins and Mary Hair Huggins.

     He was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard.

     He is survived by his wife, Evelyn McPherson Huggins of the home; one son, Ricky Wayne Huggins and wife Jennifer of Chadbourn; two daughters, Teresa Cribb and husband Harold Dean of Chadbourn and Amber Rose Huggins of Whiteville; a sister, Miriam Gore of Chadbourn; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

     In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Harold Huggins; and a great grandson, Tanner Buffkin.

     A graveside service was planned for 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, in McPherson Cemetery, Chadbourn.

     Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing will be observed and all who attend will be required to wear a mask.
