Doris Sobczak Bell: Clarendon

1954 – 2021

     Doris Sobczak Bell of Clarendon died Thursday, Feb. 25, in New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington. She was 66.

     Born Oct. 28, 1954 in Cumberland County, she was the daughter of the late John Sobczak and Doris Dew Sobczak and widow of Billy Wayne Bell.

     She is survived by a son, Bruno Godwin and wife Natalie of Lake Waccamaw; two daughters, Kimberly Godwin McPherson and husband Jack of Clarendon and Brandie Bell Fowler and husband Scott of Tabor City; three sisters, Jeannie Galloway and husband Mike of Inverness, Florida, Josephine Albergo and husband Nick of Florida, and Anna Etheridge and husband Jimmy of Crusoe Island; and ten grandchildren, Isabelle Fowler, Isaac McPherson, Karli Godwin, Brenna McPherson, Payton Fowler, Aleigh Godwin, Gracie Fowler, Cullen McPherson, Vicki Fowler and Alex McPherson.

     In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Pat Ross and Rose Mary Davis; and three infant brothers.

     Visitation was planned from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, in Inman Ward Funeral Home.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Monday, March 1, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Tabor City, burial following in Myrtle Green Cemetery.
