Martha Gore: Tabor City

1922 – 2021

Martha Gore of Tabor City passed away on Wednesday, March 3. She was 98.

Born Aug. 22, 1922 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas O. Gore and Francis Long Gore. She was the wife of the late Clyde B. Gore and they shared their lives together for 67 years.

Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Jim, Joe, Jeff and Jack Gore; two sisters, Evelyn Ruth Andrews and Dell G. Gore; and a great-grandchild, Elizabeth Faith Wilson.

Survivors include two daughters, Gayle Gore Dellinger (Ronald) of Carolina Shores and Judy Gore Fleming (Carey) of Tabor City; two grandsons, Scott Wilson (Mindy) of Cary and Heath Spivey of Tabor City.

Mrs. Gore was a member of Old Zion Wesleyan Church for 70 years and was devoted to the Christian faith. She served on many committees and was always willing to lend a hand. She was a genuine, southern lady of grace and dignity. She was a friend to all and her loving smile and kindness lifted the spirit of others. We were fortunate she passed our way and enriched our lives.

Graveside services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, in the Old Zion Wesleyan Church Cemetery.

Family planned to receive friends following the service in the cemetery.
