Mary Beck Elmore: Wilmington

1951 – 2021

     Mary Beck Elmore of Wilmington passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at her home.

     She was born in Tabor City on June 19, 1951, the daughter of Burrus Wilson Beck and Ann Soles Beck.

     Mary worked for many years in the finance and insurance business and received many honors, awards and recognition during her career.

     She is survived by her brothers, Doug Beck and his wife Leona, David Beck and wife Tonya, and Kelly Beck; sisters Lenore Beck Taylor and her husband Richard and Susan Beck; her former spouse, Edward Elmore; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

     In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister, Anita Beck Bordeaux.

     Mary was a great cook and enjoyed preparing meals and special treats for family and friends, she also loved to spend her spare time with her pets and tending her flower garden.

     A memorial services was planned for 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.
