Junior Soles: Chadbourn

1936 – 2021

     Junior Soles of Chadbourn died Friday, March 12, in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center, Whiteville. He was 84.

     Born May 11, 1936 in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Billy and Daisy Duncan Soles.

     He is survived by his wife, Pearl Gore Soles of the home; two daughters, Pamela Soles Freeman of Clarkton and Amaryllis Soles of Chadbourn; a son, Danny Ray Soles of Whiteville; two step-sons, Teddy Godwin and Darrell Godwin of Clarendon; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great, great-grandchildren.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Essie Rae Soles; infant son Ricky Dean Soles; step-son Shannon Dale McMillian; seven brothers, Jackie Soles, Ted Soles, Liston Soles, Luke Soles, Alvie Soles, Talmadge Soles, and David Lee Soles; three sisters, Betty Todd, Rosie Duncan and Gladys Hammonds; and a great-grandchild.

     He was a longtime member of Emerson Original Free Will Baptist Church.

     A graveside service was planned for 2 p.m. Monday, March 15, in Columbus Memorial Park, Whiteville.

     Family planned to receive friends following the service in the cemetery.
