Nellie Vereen: Tabor City

1951 – 2021

     Nellie Vereene of Tabor City entered eternal rest Monday, March 29, at her residence. She was 69.

     Born Sept. 23, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Deacon Johnnie U.T. and Addie Mae Gause.

     Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 3, on the lawn in front of the Club 15 Building in Tabor City. Burial followed in the Columbus County Singing Union Cemetery, Tabor City.

     Surviving to cherish her memories are her husband, Rev. Tonie Vereene; daughters Jackie Vereene, Sylvia Vereene, and Marchell Gause; brothers Douglas Gause, Johnny Gause, Lester Gause and Rudy Toomer; sisters Magdalene Lofton, Loumina Vereen, Eunice Boyd-Ishman; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
