Sandra Turbeville Strickland: Nichols
1949 – 2021
Sandra Turbeville Strickland of Nichols passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 16, in her home. She was 71.
Born Nov. 7, 1949 in Marion County, she was the daughter of the late Jasper “Jack” and Esteliene Hill Turbeville and the widow Jimmy Craig Strickland.
She is survived and blessed by many family members who include her two sons, Jimmy C. Strickland, Jr. and his wife Tabitha of Conway and Jeremy Chaise Strickland and wife Brooklyn of Nichols; one daughter, Holly Keane and her husband Jesse of Green Sea; a brother, Billy Turbeville of Ladson; nine grandchildren, Jimmy C. Strickland, III, Elizabeth Bailey Strickland, Kayla Michelle Strickland, Jordan Christopher Strickland, Julian Conner Strickland, Jenson Creed Strickland, Cassidy Adyson Keane, Tucker Riggs Keane and Noah Chase Keane.
Ms. Sandra was a member of Green Sea Baptist Church, attended WMU at Nichols Baptist Church and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved the Lord and her family. To her children she was mama, but to her precious grandchildren she was mema, which was a title she wore proudly. She loved to quilt, crochet and create crafts for many to share. Sandra had a heart for caring for others and she showed that with the love that she provided for so many. She has touched the lives of many people in her church, her community and most of all her home. No one ever had to question her love for her Lord, family or friends. Her faith was unshakeable.
A funeral service was held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 18, in Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Entombment followed in the church cemetery.
