Eva Nell Sellers: Tabor City

1948 – 2021

     Eva Nell Sellers of Tabor City died Tuesday, June 22, in her home. She was 73.

     Born Feb. 20, 1948 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Lou Bell Strickland and widow of her first husband, Jerry Sellers, and second husband, Derrick Strickland.

     She is survived by her daughter, Sue Ann Sellers of Tabor City; a son, Michael Sasser (Jesse) of Tabor City; grandson Chandler Sellers; granddaughter Jesslyn Sasser; and a host of nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wendell Strickland and Kelly Ray Strickland; and a sister, Esther Cribb Wagner.

     Eva Nell was a member of Jones Street Missionary Baptist Church. She was employed at Columbus County Hospital for more than 20 years. She had a caregiver’s heart and loved to take care of her patients.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 24, in Inman Ward Funeral Home.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Friday, June 25, in Jones Street Missionary Baptist Church, burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
