Eleanor Adaline Cottom: Lake City, Fla,

1948 – 2021

     Eleanor “Ellen” Adaline Cottom of Lake City, Florida went to be with her Lord and Savior on Aug. 13, 2021. She was 73.

     Ellen was born in Tabor City on June 17, 1948 to the late Archie and Zellie Norris of Tabor City.

     She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Ronald Lee Cottom; children Scotty Sellers (Angela), Kay Sellers-Strickland (Gard), Fay Sellers; grandchildren, Drew Sellers (Emily), Trevor Dunn, Greg Sellers (Sam), Devin Bankowitz, Megan Dunn Athow (James), Darrell Sellers (Lane), Ashlee Dunn, Tre Green; great-grandchildren, Payton, Brooke, Carter, Ava, Skylar, Addison, Rayleigh, Paige, Stetson; three brothers; six sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, David Norris and Felton Norris; and grandchild Erin Brooke Dunn.

     While she grew up in Tabor City, she made Lady Lake her home for the past 40 years. She was a businesswoman who owned and operated a family pest control business in Leesburg alongside her husband until their retirement. She and her husband moved to Tabor City after retirement where they enjoyed the country life. Ellen was a woman of faith and she loved the Lord.

     She was known to have a lending ear and a heart for people, she would offer advice but always had a prayer. She adored her family and was quick to tell a story from her childhood. She will be best remembered for her contagious laugh, a smile that brightened the room, and a love for her family. She is loved by all and will always be her husband’s princess.

     Her funeral service was planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, at Beyers Funeral Home – The Villages/Lady Lake, 134 N. Hwy 441, Lady Lake, Florida.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding the service at the funeral home.
