Glenn “Deryle” Key: Tabor City

1959 – 2021

     Glenn “Deryle” Key of Tabor City died Thursday, Aug. 26, in Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, Whiteville. He was 61.

     Born Sept. 5, 1959 in Richland County, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Tillman Arthur Key and Thelma Jean Niley Key Jones.

     He is survived by two daughters, Melissa Ann Hooton of Bolivia, and Tanisha Ashley Berry of Davidson; a sister, Karen Locklear of Tabor City; three brothers, Tommy Posey of Greenville, South Carolina, Chris Posey of Tabor City, Clay Thompson of Columbia; and nine grandchildren.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Key.

     A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at the Old Tabor City Courthouse.
