Bennie Ray Nealey: Clarendon

1950 – 2021

     Bennie Ray Nealey of Clarendon died Thursday, Sept. 9, in Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center, Whiteville. He was 70.

     Born Oct. 7, 1950 in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Joe Garland Nealey and Clara Lovette Nealey.

     He is survived by his wife, Bonnie McDowell Nealey of the home; a daughter, Kelley Nealey Brinson and husband Brent of Clarendon; one brother, Billy Nealey of Tabor City; three sisters, Kathy Cox of Tabor City, Annie Lee Russell of Lake Waccamaw, and Betty Smith of Whiteville; three grandchildren, Baylee Brinson, Rylee Brinson, and Kourtney Sellers; and one great grandchild, Brileigh Joe.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Nealey.

     A private service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, in Wright Cemetery.
