     Beverly Ann Strickland Simmons of Whiteville died Thursday, Sept. 9, in Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center, Whiteville. She was 53.

     Born June 21, 1968 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Strickland and Joanne Bessant Strickland.

     She is survived by one son, Tony Legrande Norris of Tabor City; a brother, Randy Strickland of Clarendon; a sister, Pam Strickland of Whiteville; step-brother Andy Nealey of Nakina; and one grandson.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Wayne Simmons; and one brother, Rodney Strickland.

     No services will be held.
