Betty Clamp Soles: Orangeburg
1932 – 2021
Betty Clamp Soles of Orangeburg died Saturday, Sept. 18, in Magnolia Place, Orangeburg. She was 89.
Formerly of Tabor City and Bonneau, she was born June 12, 1932 in Lexington County, the daughter of the late Henry Reedy Clamp and Pearl Agnes Lybrand Clamp.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Perry Howard and Douglas McArthur Soles.
She is survived by two sons, Tony Soles of Bonneau and Skip Howard of Lexington; three brothers, Donald Clamp and Curtis Clamp of Lexington and Wayne Clamp of Gilbert; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by one son, Mike Soles; a brother, Bert Clamp; two sisters, Marrene Long and Ruby Gantt; and one grandson.
Graveside services were planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, in Soles Cemetery, Soles Cemetery Lane, Tabor City.
A memorial service honoring her life was planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, in The Edge Church 3220 Platt Springs Road West, Columbia.
