Rev. Henry Vernon McKeithan: Nakina

1945 – 2021

     Rev. Henry Vernon McKeithan (Dockie) age 76 of Nakina died in his home on Monday, Nov. 1. He was 76.

     Born in Columbus County, he was the son of late Albert Watts and Lucille McLamb Watts.

     Henry graduated from Nakina High School and Wake Forest Baptist Seminary. He was a minister and founded The Will of Christ Community Church in Nakina.

     He is survived by his wife, Cathy D. Holbrook McKeithan of the home; two daughters, JoAnn Reaves of Nakina and Martha Strickland of Whiteville; three sons, Vernon McKeithan, Michael McKeithan, and Robert McKeithan, all of Nakina; two brothers, Brady Watts of Nakina and Albert Watts of Conway; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

     In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanette Watts; and a brother, Ned Watts.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in Watts Cemetery on Seven Creeks Hwy, Nakina.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding the service in the chapel.
