Wendy M. Stevens: Nakina

1960 – 2021

     Wendy M. Stevens of Nakina passed away Monday, Nov. 1, following a short illness. He was 61.

     Mr. Stevens was born in Columbus County, a son of the late Leroy Stevens and the late Edith Williamson Stevens. He was a retired lineman for BEMC and a member of Dulah Missionary Baptist Church

     In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Leroy Stevens, Jr. and James C. Stevens; and a sister, Mary Ellen Reaves.

     Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Teresa Tyler Stevens of Nakina; three sons, Eric Gore of Loris, Benjamin Stevens of Corpus Christie, Texas, and Coy Stevens of Bladenboro; five sisters, Cathleen Bertram of North Vernon, Indiana, Linda Alderman of Punta Gorda, Florida, Vickie Tyree of Nakina, Rebecca Norris of Franklinton, and Karen “Susie” Vance of Nakina, NC; and seven grandchildren.

     Funeral services were planned for 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel with Rev. Ken Smith officiating.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceeding the service at the funeral home.
