Ila Mae Sarvis: Green Sea
1939 – 2021
Ila Mae Sarvis of Green Sea, widow of Shelton “Bill” Sarvis, died Thursday, Nov. 11, at her home. She was 82.
Born March 28, 1939 in Loris, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Eunice (Strickland) Ward.
She is survived by a son, Phil (Joyce) Sarvis of Whiteville; daughters Melanie Sarvis Cox and Candace Hardee, both of Green Sea; one sister, Pearline Toney of Colorado; thirteen grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one son, Danny Sarvis; two daughters, Susan and Marie Sarvis; one grandson, Brandon Sarvis; and one sister, Geraldine Gablehouse.
A funeral service was planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Little Bethel Original Freewill Baptist Church in Green Sea, directed by Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City, burial following at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols.
Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding the service at the church.
