Janice Powell Norris: Loris

1942 – 2021

     Janice Powell Norris passed away on Sunday, Nov. 21, at her home in Loris. She was 79.

     Born June 11, 1942 in Loris, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Austin Powell and the late Flossie Rowell Powell. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

     Survivors include her son, Daniel Norris and wife Sherrie of Loris; four daughters, Lynn Hord and husband Jack, Sarah Scott and husband Tony, Rachel Prince and husband Shane, and Marie Josephs and husband Trey all of Loris; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Norris was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Doyce Elwood Norris; a son, baby boy Norris; and sisters Jean Johnson and Clarcie Ozella Johnson

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, at Hardwick Funeral Home.

     Funeral services were planed for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Pastor David Watts officiating, committal services following at Princeville Cemetery.
