Joe “Pete” King: Nichols

1946 – 2021

     Joe “Pete” King of Nichols passed away peacefully at Carlyle Senior Center on Dec. 19. He was 75.

     Born in Mullins on Feb. 13, 1946, he was the son of the late Guilbert Harold King and Ernestine Hammond King.

     He is survived by his son, Darryl King of Ash Fork, Arizona; and his brother, John King of Nichols; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was predeceased by many loved ones, especially his canine companion, “Tookie Pie”.

     A graveside service was planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, in Hammond Cemetery in the Spring Branch Community, with Reverend Jack Strickland officiating.

     Family planned to receive friends at the cemetery following the service.

     Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Causey Hunting Club, Youth Hunt, 3951 Old Stage Rd., Nichols, SC 29581.
