Alice Carolyn Gregory Gore: Wilmington

1927 – 2021

     Alice Carolyn Gregory Gore of Wilmington formally of the Pireway Community near Tabor City, died Saturday, Dec. 25, in Wilmington. She was 94.

     Born in Auburndale, Florida, she was the daughter of the late David Alexander Gregory and Ruth Valentine Gregory.

     She is survived by one daughter, Mary Gore Barefoot of Wilmington; five sons, William David Gore of Nakina, Albert G. Gore of Ocala, Florida, Seth Cleveland Gore of Tabor City, Adam F. Gore of Duncan, Anthony J. Gore of Tabor City, seventeen grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lester Gore; a son, Thomas L. Gore of Murrells Inlet; sisters Margaret Satterfield of Daytona, Florida and Ruth Blanton of Salt Lake City, Utah; two brothers, Joe Gregory of LaFayette, Georgia and David Gregory of Cartersville, Georgia.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in Pireway Cemetery, Tabor City.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding the service in the chapel.
