Tony Johnson: Tabor City
1951 – 2021
Tony Johnson of Tabor City, husband of Theresa Prince Johnson, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 29, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 70.
Born May 14, 1951 in Tabor City, he was a son of the late Lester A. and Bessie Mae (Fowler) Johnson.
He was a member of Holiness Tabernacle Church in Tabor City.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Anthony W. Johnson of Tabor City; daughter Crystal Stubbs of Tabor City; two grandchildren; and several in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Buck Johnson and Jackie Johnson; and sisters Doris Shelley, Jo Anne Stinson, and Patsy Johnson.
Family planned to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.
A funeral service was planned for 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, at Holiness Tabernacle in Tabor City, with Rev. Terry Nealey and Rev. Robert Nealey officiating, burial following in Old Springfield Cemetery.
