George Thomas Vaught: Longs

1963 – 2022

     George Thomas “Tommy” Vaught of Longs passed away on Tuesday, March 1 at his home in Longs following a sudden illness. He was 59.

     Born Feb. 10, 1963 in Loris, he was the son of the late Thomas Monroe Vaught and the late Jonna Fae Turbeville Vaught.

     Mr. Tommy Vaught was a Master Gemologist, working with Reeds Jewelers until retirement and attended Living Water Baptist Church.

     Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Westie Vaught; a son, Thomas Vaught, II and girlfriend Chantel Rogers of Jacksonville, North Carolina; a grandson on the way, Mason Thomas Vaught; a brother, Eriek Vaught of Longs; two uncles, David Vaught and wife Jessica and Steve Vaught and wife June; two aunts, Bonnie Vaught and Cyrenthia May and husband Al; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Hardwick Funeral Home and again beginning at 1 p.m. Friday, March 4.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Pastor Lebron Crisp officiating, committal services following at Buck Creek Cemetery.
