Miriam Martha Hooks Watts: Tabor City
1942 – 2022
Miriam Martha Hooks Watts of Tabor City died on Sept. 18 in Riverside Health and Rehabilitation in North Charleston. She was 80.
Born in Horry County, she was the daughter of the late William Patrick Hooks and Lazelle Fogle Hooks. She attended Today’s Harvest Church of North Myrtle Beach.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Stewart Watts of Tabor City; four daughters, Cheryl Mills and husband Hal of Calabash, Paula Laughinghouse of Tabor City, Susan Thomas and husband Lester of Little River, Victoria Stocks and husband Dan of Ocean Isle Beach; two sisters, Nancy Harrelson of Loris, SC, and Linda Merritt of Tabor City, NC; two grandchildren, Julia Steffen and husband James of Shallotte and Jordan Gaskins and husband Casey of Tabor City; one great grandchild, Amelia Steffen; special great niece Lazelle Kay Herring of Kentucky; great nephew Christopher Thomas Herring of Texas; special sister in law Rachel Monkus of Darlington; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John Buck Fogle; and two sisters, Lonnie McLain and Catherine Johnson.

A celebration of life service was planned for 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel.
Visitation was planned for the hour preceding the service in the chapel.
