Marty Joe Huggins: Conway
1967 – 2022
Marty Joe Huggins of Conway passed away on Monday, Sept. 26, at Grand Strand Medical Center following a sudden illness. He was 55.
Born June 22, 1967 in Wilmington, he was the son of the late Samuel Joseph Huggins and the late Marian Turner Huggins. He loved racing and sports, especially pulling for the Dallas Cowboys and UNC Tarheels, worked as an electrician, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his two daughters, Ashley Huggins and Brook Huggins both of Loris; a brother, Leroy Thomas and wife Mimi of Myrtle Beach; four sisters, Lynn Dew of Southport, Tonia Huggins and Teresa Martin of Conway, and Susie Pitcher and husband Paul of Indiana; three nephews, Joseph Burns of Indiana, Jeremy Dew of Loris, and Jeremiah Causey of Conway; three nieces, Christie Smith of Southport, Lara Huggins of Conway, and Emily Swan of Indiana; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Huggins was predeceased by his brother, Donnie Carroll.
Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chris Hardee officiating. Private committal services were planned.
Visitation was planned for the hour preceding the services in the funeral home.
