William Grady Watts: Loris

1934 – 2022

     William Grady Watts of Loris passed away Friday, Se[t/ 30, at his home. He was 87.

     Mr. Watts was born in Tabor City, a son of the late Odell and Eva Bell Watts. He was a Veteran of the US Army and served in the National Guard.

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Watts was predeceased by three brothers, Hubert, Frank, and Hoyt Watts; and five sisters, Gladys Graham, Mary Lou Bullard, Myrtie Blanton, Marie Coleman, and Elizabeth Tyler.

     Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Pauline Soles Watts of Loris; two daughters, Wilma J. Hodge of Loris and Melisa D. Utter of Ash; two sons, William D. Watts of Calabash and David G. Watts of Loris; fourteen grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one brother, Homer Watts of Thomasville; and two sisters, Essie Nealey of Tabor City and Princess Olshinski of Thomasville.

     Family planned to receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel with Rev. Robert Nealey and Elder Nathel Moody officiating, burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City.

     In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Holiness Tabernacle Church, 200 West 8th Street, Tabor City, NC 28463.
