Betty Jo Lunsford: Tabor City

1949 – 2022

     Betty Jo Lunsford of Tabor City passed away on Friday, Sept. 30, in Tabor City. She was 73.

     She was born July 6, 1949, in Marion County, a daughter of the late Robert R. and Lou Mae (Strickland) Bell.

     Survivors include a daughter, Tina Hamacher of Cherryville; one son, Joe Akridge of Stillmore, Georgia; two sisters, Nancy Cribb of Tabor City and Marie Stephens of Murrells Inlet; four brothers, Carlton Bell of Loris, Freddie Bell of Ladson, Spencer Bell of Lexington, and Robert Bell of Myrtle Beach; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean Lunsford; one son, Ricky Bell; two daughters, Melissa and Rhonda Johnson; three brothers, Jack, Edgar, and Sam Bell; a sister, Barbara Mortimore; and one grandson.

      A memorial service will be held at a later date.
