Mary Pearl Tyler Shelley: Loris
1937 – 2022
Mary Pearl Tyler Shelley passed away on Monday, Oct. 24, at her home in Loris. She was 84.
Born Dec. 31, 1937 in Loris, she was the daughter of the late Norman Emmett Tyler and the late Mary Jane Barnhill Tyler.
Mrs. Shelley was the owner of Shelley’s Seafood in Conway, a nurse with Conway Hospital, and a member of Cane Branch Baptist Church. She had a servant’s heart and loved serving and feeding people. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Survivors include her daughter, Anita Shelley of Loris; three grandchildren, Judi Fowler (Timmy), Latasha Shelley, and Kayla Elliott; three great-grandchildren, Christopher Kellett, Noah Fowler, and Brianna Kellett; brother, Ronald Tyler of Hickory; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shelley was predeceased by her husband, Jackie Shelley, brothers, Michael Tyler, Larry Tyler, and Hoyt Elwood Tyler, and sister, Gloria J. Speer.
Family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Bonnie and Robin Conn, Marie and Drew Westall, and Promedica Hospice for the love and special care they gave Mrs. Shelley.
Funeral services were planned for noon on Thursday, Oct. 27, at Cane Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Jon Johnson officiating, committal services following at Cane Branch Cemetery.
Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding the services at the church.
