William C. Cartrette: Tabor City

     William C. “Jake” Cartrette of the Sandy Plain community, Tabor City, died Sunday, Feb. 5, in McLeod Seacoast in Little River. He was 92.

     His is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rosa Nell Cartrette, of the home; one son, William Cartrette of Garner; three daughters, Diane Watts, Gwen Hill, and Phyllis Lanier, all of Tabor City; four brothers, Larry Cartrette, Robert Cartrette, Tommy Cartrette, and David Cartrette, all of Tabor City; three sisters, Rebecca Duncan of Loris, Barbara Inman, and Fannie Watts, both of Tabor City; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jessie and Pete Cartrette; a sister, Viola Prince; one grandson; and one great-grandchild.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 pm.. Tuesday, Feb. 7, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home chapel.
