John Wesley Cartrette: Chadbourn

1947 – 2023

     John Wesley Cartrette of the Beaverdam community, Chadbourn, died Tuesday, March 28, in the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter, Whiteville. He was 75.

     Born in Chadbourn, he was a son of the late William Albert Cartrette and Agnus Mae (Hardie) Cartrette.

     He was a cabinet builder with Hinson Cabinet Shop and worked with the maintenance department for the City of Whiteville.

     He is survived by one sister, Josephine Cartrette; and a half-sister, Doris Dudley; both of Chadbourn.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Earl Cartrette; and a half-sister, Elouise McPherson.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Friday, March 31, in Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church, with Preacher Buddy Seay officiating, burial following in McPherson Cemetery.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services in the church.
