Don Watts: Tabor City
1930 – 2023
Don Watts of Tabor City died Wednesday, April 26, in MUSC Hospital in Charleston. He was 92.
Born in Tabor City, he was the son of the late Albert Dow Watts and Edith Soles Watts.
He was a member of Tabor City Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S Army and U.S Air Force Reserve.
He is survived by his wife, Mary S. Watts of the home; a daughter, Mary Katherine Porter and husband Jeff of Little River: one son, Albert Randall Watts and wife Sheila of Summerville; one brother, Ronald Watts of Tabor City; three sisters, Doris Grainger of Green Sea, Betty June Ward of Tabor City, Phyllis Althen of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Lance Porter of Johns Island, Edith Lauren Porter-Rogers and husband Keith of Little River, Jessica Nicole Rowe and husband Richard of Vandenberg, California, Brandon James Watts, of Mt. Pleasant; and two great -grandchildren, Wade Micheal Rowe and Kagney Lauren Rogers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill Watts, Ted Watts, Dale Watts, Ned Watts; and two sisters, Virginia Long and Peggy Currie.
Funeral services were planned for 3 pm. Saturday, April 29, in Tabor City Baptist Church, burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City.
Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the church.
