Rebecca “Becky” Ruth Sarvis: Summerville

1936 – 2023

     Rebecca “Becky” Ruth Gerald Sarvis of Summerville passed away on Saturday, May 27 in Summerville. She was 87.

     Born March 26, 1936, in Longs, , she was the daughter of the late Herman Gerald and the late Ruth Cox Gerald.

     Mrs. Sarvis graduated from Loris High School in 1954, then earned her associated degree and worked as an executive secretary with Cameron & Barkley for 42 years until her retirement. She was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Azalea Chapter #192, and attended Cathedral of Praise Church in North Charleston.

     Survivors include her two sons, Michael Scott Sarvis (Dee) of Summerville and P. Robert Sarvis (Amy) of North Charleston; seven grandchildren, Wesley Sarvis (Bianca), Kaitlyn Sarvis, Meghan Sarvis Kapp (Charles), Olivia Sarvis, Martha Sarvis, Bridgette Stample, and Alayna Stample; four loving great-grandchildren, Sebastian Sarvis, Willow Sarvis, Charlie Kapp, and Maeve Kapp; and her niece, Emily Nichole Gerald of Little River.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sarvis was predeceased by her husband, Robert Hyman Sarvis; a brother, Arnold Herman Gerald; and one granddaughter, Meghan Stample.

     Graveside services were planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, at Buck Creek Cemetery with Pastor Larry Allen officiating.

     Family planned to receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.
