Frances Strickland Manning Ward: Whiteville

Frances Strickland Manning Ward of Whiteville died Thursday night, Aug. 10, in her home. She was 82.
Born Feb. 2, 1941 in Horry County, she was the daughter of the late Preacher Vernon McLeod Strickland and Agnes Rogers Strickland. She was the widow of the late Wayland Manning and the late Lealon C. Ward.
She was of the Baptist Faith.
She is survived by four sons, Wayland Derek Manning of Lake City, Florida; Preacher Glenn Dale Manning (Sandra) of Chadbourn; Gary Wayne Manning and Duane Henderson Manning of Whiteville; a brother, C.M. Strickland (Barbara); one sister, Glenda Gasque (J.C.); eleven grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry Yvonne Manning; a sister, Sylvia Strickland Beckham; and one brother, Vernon Larry Strickland.
Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Junior Tyler and Rev. J.T. Adams officiating, burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the chapel.
