1979 – 2023

Timothy Lamont Spivey of Tabor City passed away in Clanton, Alabama on Aug. 18. He was 44.

He was born Aug. 14, 1979 to the late Timothy Young “Chub” Spivey of Williams Township and Leona Johnson Spivey of Mullins.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Anne Spivey; three sons, Jeremy Spivey, Mason Spivey, and Logan Spivey, all of Tabor City; a daughter, McKayla Blackburn of Pikeville Kentucky; two brothers, Jason Spivey of Loris and Derek Spivey of Mullins.

In addition to his father he was preceding in death by paternal grandparents Dozier and Edna Spivey, and maternal grandparents WJ and Earlene Johnson.

A memorial service was planned for 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, at Lumber River State Park.

Lamont was a very hardworking man and took pride in every job he did, but he would tell you the most important job he had was being a dad. If you ever met him I’m sure you heard him talk about his kids. He was so proud of each of them and all of their accomplishments.

Lamont knew he wasn’t perfect but he tried to instill a good work ethic in his kids and to teach them to be good people even when they had to learn from his mistakes. He always told them “do as I say, not as I do.”

You will be missed and you are dearly loved by the family you leave behind. Rest easy Lamont and with the help of God I’ll take care of the kids. – Anne Spivey
