Hughey James Williamson: Augusta, Ga.

1935 – 2024

     Hughey James “Jimmie” Williamson died at the Augusta War Memorial Nursing Home in Augusta, Georgia on Oct. 5, where he resided for 6 1/2 years. A long-time resident of Warner Robins, Georgia, he was 89.

     Jimmie was born on May 17, 1935, and raised in Green Sea. He served in the Air Force for 12 years during the Vietnam era and was awarded a Bronze Star.

     Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Alma and Ottis Williamson; his brother, Maxie Williamson; a sister, Irene Gause; and one grandson.

     He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Stone of Mt. Holly and Cindy Tadlock of Belmont; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Althea Nelson of Mooresville; and sister-in-law, Marguerite Williamson of Green Sea.

     A graveside service was planned for noon Saturday, Nov. 23, in the Green Sea Baptist Church Cemetery.
