Ernestine Butler Horne Stevens: Myrtle Beach

1929 – 2024

     Ernestine Butler Horne Stevens of Myrtle Beach passed away on Oct. 17 at her home. She was 95.

     Born Sept. 27, 1929 in Loris, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Clyde Butler and the late Laura Cox Butler.

     Mrs. Stevens was a longtime active member of Socastee Methodist Church. She worked at the Landmark Motel until her retirement, but will be most remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

     Survivors include her loving sons, Peter L. Horne and wife, Gail, and Cecil “Ricky” Horne; daughters Cynthia Ann Morgan and husband Scott, and Cecilia Lynn Horne; as well as her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stevens was predeceased by her first husband, Cecil Levern Horne; second husband, Roy Johnson; third husband, Winston Stevens; brothers Junior J. Butler and Jimmy Butler; and sisters, Irene Floyd and Judine Helsel.

     A memorial visitation was planned from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, in the Camp Swamp Church Fellowship Hall.

     Committal services were to follow, at 2 p.m. at Butler Cemetery.
