Appreciation for those who brought the classes of 2025 to graduation at Green Sea Floyds, Loris and South Columbus high schools last week were common commencement themes voiced by the leaders of those classes.

Loris High valedictorian Zackary Fowler said many brought he and his classmates this far.

“We must always remember where we came from and never forget who made it possible for each of us to be here today,” Fowler said.

“I hope you also take a moment to consider the role your family played to make this day happen and thank them,” Green Sea Floyds valedictorian Abram Michael Suggs said.

South Columbus Class of 2025 President Riley Grice said “Thank you” often during her commencement speech, listing family, the SCHS administration “especially Mrs. Kelly Beck,” faculty, “and finally – to God. Thank you for walking with us. Even when we didn’t understand the journey, we trust that you had a purpose in it all.”

Commencement ceremonies took place on June 4 at Green Sea Floyds High, June 6 at Loris High, and June 7 at South Columbus.
