Charles David Godwin: Chadbourn

1953 – 2025

     Charles David Godwin of Chadbourn passed away on Thursday, Dec. 18. He was 72.

     Born Aug. 6, 1953, he was the son of the late Odom Godwin and Sarah Mildred Rogers Godwin.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores McPherson Godwin.

     He is survived by one son, Casey Godwin of Clarendon; two brothers, Tim Godwin of Clarendon and Andy Godwin of Whiteville; and two grandchildren.

     He was the Fire Chief at Roseland Fire Department for 32 years and managed the New Tabor Warehouse for 30 years.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church, burial following in the Hinson Cemetery.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services in the church.
